I remember my first Thanksgiving. It was 15 years ago, in 2007. I had been living in Miami for 6 months.
We celebrated with our new friends, our first friends in the USA. None of us was American: French, Argentinean, Irish… but we all embraced this very American tradition!
It was love at first sight 🥰
I loved the sharing of this hearty meal.
And this moment when we all shared what we were grateful for.
Oh what a powerful moment.
I remember tears in my eyes as I was sharing what I was grateful for. I experienced deeply the power of gratitude that day.
Thanksgiving is from this day, by far, my favorite holiday.
It is a tradition we can all celebrate together. A holiday that belongs to all and where all belong.
It is a holiday that reminds us of all the things we are grateful for in our life.
I love the spirit of Thanksgiving. It is the best of the American spirit!
I learnt later in my life how important cultivating gratitude is and how it contributes to our wellbeing.
I now cultivate gratitude as part of my self-care routine, the routine that also supports me in keeping control over my old habit of anxiety.
And I will add: I am grateful for you reading this post! Thank you! ❤️🙏🏻
Happy Thanksgiving!
